Give Desktop Speakers a Compact Amplifier: AK55 + BT-298 Pro

Desktop speakers deserve more than a laptop or phone can give them

Passive bookshelf or desktop speakers need an amplifier to produce clean volume and controlled bass. Without one, they often sound thin, distort at low volume, or force you to sit directly beside the source. A compact stereo amplifier turns ordinary speakers into a useful listening system for work, music, and casual TV audio.

WOOPKER has two compact options that fit a desk or media shelf. The AK55 adds more playback sources for a home audio setup. The BT-298 Pro is a simpler metal-body receiver for Bluetooth and USB use. Both work with passive speakers rated for common home audio impedance.

WOOPKER AK55: a fuller-featured home amplifier

The WOOPKER AK55 is a 2.0-channel Bluetooth stereo amplifier with USB and SD card playback, FM radio, bass and treble controls, and a remote. It is a good match for bookshelf speakers in a bedroom, office, or living room when you want multiple ways to play music without changing inputs on a receiver.

The AK55 supports passive speakers with a 4-16 ohm rating. For a simple setup, connect the left and right speakers, choose Bluetooth, USB, SD, FM, or the audio input, then start at low volume and adjust bass and treble to suit the room.

WOOPKER BT-298 Pro: a compact Bluetooth receiver

The WOOPKER BT-298 Pro is a 2.0-channel Bluetooth amplifier with USB playback, remote control, and a metal body designed for desktop or shelf placement. It keeps the setup simple when Bluetooth and USB are the main sources you need.

Like the AK55, the BT-298 Pro is intended for passive speakers. It can be powered by AC power with the included adapter and offers DC 12V input for flexible placement in a home or workshop setup.

How to choose

  • Choose the AK55 when you want USB, SD, FM radio, and tone controls in one compact box.
  • Choose the BT-298 Pro when Bluetooth and USB are enough and you prefer a smaller, simpler receiver.
  • Match the amplifier to the speaker impedance and power range before you connect anything.

Setup checklist

  1. Turn the amplifier off before connecting speakers.
  2. Connect each speaker to the correct left or right output and keep polarity consistent.
  3. Power on the amplifier, select the source, and keep the volume low for the first test.
  4. Raise the volume gradually and adjust tone controls only after the source is playing.
  5. Leave clearance around the amplifier so it can stay cool during longer listening sessions.
